Prince William and Kate Middleton have expressed their assist for the folks of Ukraine amid the continued Russian invasion.
The royal couple launched a joint assertion through their Twitter account @KensingtonRoyal on Saturday, writing: “In October 2020 we had the privilege to satisfy President [Volodymyr] Zelensky and the First Girl to study of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future.” They continued, “Immediately we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s folks as they bravely combat for that future.” They concluded with an emoji of the Ukrainian flag and their initials “W & C.”
This message from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge comes two days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their own statement in support of Ukraine. On Thursday, the couple posted a private message to their Archewell Foundation website: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and all of us at Archewell stand with the folks of Ukraine in opposition to this breach of worldwide and humanitarian regulation and encourage the worldwide neighborhood and its leaders to do the identical,” they wrote.
On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, an assault that included missile strikes on its capital. In announcing new sanctions in opposition to Russia on Thursday, President Joe Biden stated that “Putin selected this warfare, and now he and his nation will bear the implications.”
