Meyer, a senior learning worldwide relations and historical past, was a member of Stanford’s championship crew in 2019.

“Katie was terribly dedicated to all the things and everybody in her world,” Stanford stated in a statement. “Her mates describe her as a larger-than-life crew participant in all her pursuits, from selecting a tutorial self-discipline she stated ‘modified my perspective on the world and the essential challenges that we have to work collectively to beat’ to the fervour she delivered to the Cardinal ladies’s soccer program and to ladies’s sports activities generally.”

In response to statements from Vice Provost of Scholar Affairs Susie Brubaker-Cole, Meyer died at an on-campus residence. The reason for dying has not been launched to the general public.
